best skies I've seen, visibility as good as it get's, and I'm lined up, star aligned and waiting for dusk to end and targeting time to begin.

Will ride my bike home today from work, and begin ripping out the part of the deck covering where the pier will be installed. Have my cement, etc all ready to go. Not exactly sure how I'm going to do this but hope I see good ideas once I rip up the deck.

Hey Charlie, glad the pod went up ok and your house isn't sliding down the hill - yet. Those boxes were BIG. Sending a couple of images. Installed some rubberized flooring in the pod since I'm not starting with a pier. This stuff supposedly dampens all vibrations and I can curl up and sleep on it. Also including the setup for this year. My mount and 80mm apo on the bottom, my new Stellarvue 70mm apo on top. The modified Canon D-1000 on the Stellarvue, the Sbig on the Orion Sirius. Also found an…

Set up the pod, set up the telescope, since it's been so long i had a few alligators, rookie mistakes. Drift aligned for a few hours and got it pretty good, should be shooting but have an early AM so am cashgin out. Kinda cool just about to close the lid and leave the setup there. Kinda trippy actually.

Clear skies and epic visibility. I'm going to have to wheel the scope out tonight.
But there is light at the end of the table, my house flooring is starting to be installed tonight. STOKED.

Cool geologist informs me that the house is not sliding. Good thing. So now i get to relevel my cracked floor and then use that as a subfloor to put in hardwood flooring. Amping on this. Its clear as day the guy i bought the house from knew about the cracks and did not disclose, so hes in big trouble with me.
Other things.. Got my skyshedpod. Maybe set up this weekend. Pretty big boxes it comes in. Klooz knows!! Got the same thing you did boss.
So im installing floors…

Hi all!
Growing pains is not really an appropriate title, but probably got your attention. We are going on the two week...um...week-a-versery of this website. We've gone from 2 to 23 members just from word of mouth. We are not advertised anywhere and not on any search engines. So not bad. Actually, better than not bad, this site kicks ass. Unlimited image size, forums, blogs and of course my favorite, the chat. All of this without some big corporation telling us what we can or cannot…

So if I can't bitch to my telescope bro's then I can't bitch to anyone!! LOL. So, I'm in the middle of demolition hammering my stone floor out of my house. With all the rain in cali this winter I noticed crack in my concrete and the retaining wall cracked. Not as bad as it sounds, the cracks up front are from water expanding underneath the home, and the cracks in the wall (one foot wall not too bad) are from the prior owner putting in these ugly cold dirty stones as flooring. So I'm ripping out…

Weather has been rainy and windy. All that is supposed to stop at midnight, and I don't have work tomorrow. Perhaps I should set up, but I don't know. It's still pretty windy out there, but I'd love to get a few more shots. hmmmm...

I'm super stoked on this site. Maybe I'm biased, but I just love the fact there is a chat room, and forums without editing or someone with a company bias reviewing. This is totally open, no porn or viagra sales though!!! lol. But it's just really cool that we have this to share our hobby. In the chat room earlier I learned a lot from hopper about attaching a photo lense to a CCD and shooting wide field views. Epic. Thank you all for signing up and i'm hoping we get a bunch of people on here so…

Can't wait to get my pier and pod from skyshedpod. Not sure what I'm most stoked on, the pod or the pier. they really go hand in hand. Last night I drift aligned and it made a big difference. If I hyper drift aligned on a pier it would be so much better, and with the pod just opening the observatory and you are aligned, set up, and ready to shoot. Seriously I cannot wait for that. So I'm wondering if last night was my last time ever on the tripod as the pod is shipping today and the pier in a…

Clear Skies and good visibility. Have to clear the way so the telescope can wheel out to my deck but it's dusk and I'm pounding food and will get on it. YOOO... I'll be telescoping in an hour or so with NO WORK tomorrow. Visibility is fantastic right now and no wind or even a breeze, perhaps a faint object if I have the patience to drift align.
