Got the deck taken out, and my buddy and his small crew put in an 18 inch round pier with a T base 5 feet deep. The dirt in my hill is super strong and solid, and I'm guessing that pier base isn't moving at all if much at all. Just levelled the J bolts (except he used screws with flat square 3 inch plates on the end. It'll be solid. So, that part is done. Monday they install the actual deck, should be done my tuesday. Wed. my observatory shows up. Can't wait.

The directions are so bad on this doem assembly, I just spent an hour figuring out bolt spacing as they literally are written incorrectly. Had to go look at the picture guide and then count the number of supplied bolts. Unreal. Dome is awesome, guide to made it, not so much.

Did some on the hatch door today, but rain is coming and it started sprinkling and I rushed to get everything indoors and under the tarp. This will take two days to get the dome up I think. something like that. It's not trivial putting this thing together.

Got the spinning ring attached. This was a bigger deal than anticipated. Got it spinning pretty well though. Tonight assemble the hatch door and then tomorrow the dome (the easiest part) and then final install. Then after that come the electronics, the harest part I'm sure.

Didn't get a whole lot done on sunday, being easter. Tonight I'm putting the dome on.

no bob I don't. It's round now. All good. My problem was that the peices were sort of bending and flexing, so you'd get it round then it would shrink when you bolted them. So I got one edge right, bolted that, and then moved onto the next 1/8 around, etc. It lined up in the end so it worked. Round enough now.
