Yep. That's one of the things I'm going to try and concentrate on this year as soon as I can get out. Rather than hop around, going to try to take 3-4 hour total exposures, especially with the pod. Try to get one good image a night - weather permitting. Also going to try to spend at least the same time using the dslr as the sbig - but do like the sbig buckets. Wish the weather would cooperate here just a bit and let me get out. Cold or no cold but the clouds need to go away.

so like just over an hour total time? Oh man if you could put like 3 hours on that it would be wicked. I'm gonna have to check my sky and see if it is in my little "window" of oppurtunity. That is of course if the clouds would go away!

I like this one a lot Dave. So much going on. I am very jealous of the wide feild because I cannot pull it off. The sensor on the SBIG is too small and I am still working with the DSLR...wait...is this the SBIG? What did you image this with?

Thanks Jeff, long story but I started with a Celestron 8SE and Meade DSI. Found over the last few years I really liked the wide field, more context in image and more clarity but less size. Sold my 8SE and got the Sbig and got the Orion Ion 80mm apo and a Sirius EQ-G go to mount. Soon as I get the Canon modified and paid for, going to get a 70 or 72mm Astrotech apo. My scope has an f ratio of 7.5, the other two are f 6 and a better field of view. Have a PST, but don't do much planetary at all so don't miss my 8SE.

Nice one. I like the wide field, and how you got ngc-7331 into the mix. What set-up did you use? I have the same image brewing (sans ngc-7331 - cropped it out) that I started with my C6. I've got a couple of hours on it, but not much detail yet. Sad thing is, I think it will take a really devoted effort to put more time on it, given that I have a new f/4 imaging newt that I plan on using on such objects from here on out. Dunno, maybe I'll stack what I have and call it a wrap with the C6 and just start anew with the f/4. But who knows?
