Never the case. I never tried the DSI Pro 2 on solar images. As I remember, it was difficult if not impossible to get the right exposure and color. The focus range is narrow and I'm a bit surprised I can't use my DBK with it. Happy with the Toucam however. Ended up getting a clip on H-alpha filter for my Canon and I am definitely hooked on it for nebulae. First three images of N american neb, pelican and Wizard are way way better than with the Sbig. Color, saturation, depth, texture and fov. Anxious to get back out and start imaging in that area...Butterfly, ngc5070 but 3 days into a week of rain. Miserable cold wet spring. Been this way since November - overcast and cold with very few sunny days or clear nights. The nights that are ok arespotty and best so it generally sucks for imaging.
interesting. I've got a neximage and DSI II pro. Think the DSI would be perfect to capture this and maybe get a bit more resolution. That little solar scope you have is pretty cool. OPT had a bunch lined up, this one and a bunch more expensive ones, and I liked the one you had the best, and then when I found out it was the least expensive I was shocked. how often is that the case you know.
My Toucam - which I've been told has the same chip as the Neximage. My Imaging Source DBK can't reach focus which is too bad. My DSI - both of them - are sold.
