C34, Veil
I'm having a bit of fun using the focal reducer with my refractor. I shot this the other night and plan to add more time to it, maybe even attempt a mosaic.
82 minutes, Antares 127mm achromatic w/meade 6.3 reducer

I was really surprised at the amount of data too Star, The Antares is an F9 scope, but with the 6.3 I figure I was shooting close to F6 so I'm guessing that's the reason.

Mark, there's a minor difference in the field but not much at all... that's what I'm surprised about the most. There's fairly noticable vignetting in the lower right hand corner, a little in the upper right hand and not much at all anywhere else. It could also be the the camera wasn't quite centered, which I'd imagine at about F6 or so it's fairly picky about that (but I may be wrong)
Shots with the 127mm (no reducer) has quite a nice flat field to begin with so that's a benefit. Now if I could only do something about those blue stars :) lol

Kevin, those stars came out nice. I use to have an Orion 120st (same ballpark) and I remember getting some pretty wild star shapes. Looks good, Marc
