I'd tell you on was on the shuttle, but would be lying. The little PST does a good job. Anxious to try using my new Imaging Source DBK with the PST and see if the solar and lunar shots are as good. They should be better. Another 8" of snow last night. My snowblower is getting a workout this year and me along with it.

Klooz... you kidding me?!?!? That's NASA quality. Holy crap, very nice. That's just awesome.

Thanks Marc,

I've been using Neb 2 to both capture and stack, but I haven't used it much - just never happy with the orange background I seem to get when capturing I guess due to light fog. Now that the C is modified planning to use it much more. I'll give the C utilities a try and dss. We've got a foot of the white stuff coming down right now but then up to about 45 by Tuesday. Sort of like golf....by the time the season rolls around where you can get out you forget what you were doing right at the end of the year. Same with imaging. Just a wee bit better with imaging than my golf game.

David, I just used Can. Utilities w/a bahtinov mask for capture. Then DSS for stack (best bargain out there) and then cs4. I have Nebulosity2 (I use to use it for some post process) it does capture also, but never tried it. C- Utilities w/a laptop works great (I think). Marc The big thaw is coming dude!

Hey Marc, I keep forgetting to ask you -what software are you using to capture images with your dslr? I think you're aligning and stacking with dss.

Thanks guys for taking a look, one of the luckier ones I think. Hoping my Imaging Source when it arrives will give me a crisper image than the Neximage. Very hit and miss.

I remember this pic, a beauty. Hope you got it hanging on a wall where it belongs. Marc

Now that is interesting about replacing it with a B/W sensor. assume one could use filters on it for processed color images? The idea of grounding the sensor is also intriguing...

Thanks Trevor. I've done more solar than planetary or lunar. Like the deep space stuff, colors and textures in nebulae especially. At least more variety on the sun where craters and rings and red spots don't vary too much.
