The purpose of this group is to attempt to create large images by combining members images together. The image above was created by combining multiple images from multiple scopes to creates the resulting composite. Using similar processes this group will endevour to create huge mosaics to be shared by the group as it sees fit. Sound like fun? Join up and let's see what we can do!

Now I've never created a mosaic with someone else's shots before. So first we'll have to pick a target and gather some images. What should be first?

See what kind of experience is out there we can tap into. There is some nice widefields of ngc2264 on Flickr to give an idea. Not positive I can shoot this,definite maybe (maybe borrow the Klooz tree filter), next time its clear I'll slew over and see. Marc

Let's pick a target...or is there something we have all alreday hit? Hopper, look at what Marc and I discussed below...can you hit that cluster from your site? Maybe we start there? Open for suggestions, I am just excited to start a project...

According to this your FOV would be 2 degrees 16 minutes and 16 sec by 1 degree 30 min and 50 sec. with 2 arc sec per pixel

that is freakin' huge!

Trevor, do you know how to figure out how many degrees are in your (mine) telescope field of view? My numbers are 80mm,f7,FL560 Marc
