My previous captures of the Iris have been at shorter focal lengths, which allows the inclusion of more of the dust lanes, but I think I got a bit more detail with the bigger 'scope.

Thanks, Fred & Philip. After seeing Jimmy Walker's Iris on APOD yesterday I went back and pumped up the saturation a bit. His shot is absolutely fantastic, but I do think he went a little too far on the saturation!

The dark areas are just so cool. It gives the light areas so much depth. The cosmos are just filled with wonders and this is one of them......great capture man.
