Hi Spike. Not exactly sure what you mean. If it is the spikes, they are diffraction spikes caused by the seconday holder on the newt. Just tend to get alot of them when the stars are very bright.

Hi Steve. Glad you like it. So far I love the G-11. Can't get much better in the price range. Before it I was trying to image off of an EQ 5. Could not get images longer than 60 sec. I am thinking of adding Gemini GOTO after my kids are done with university.

Thanks alot Mark...The coma corrector proves its worth on every shot. Before I started using it, all the stars in the last 3rd of the field of view looked like comets.
Like I had said to Samiam I would like to shoot it wider field and catch alot more of the Merope region.

Thanks, I would love to get a wider angle on it. It barely fits in the field of view of the 8" newt.
