"My" Lunt was back-ordered for forever so I canceled it. Taking delivery of my PST tomorrow. For a single object scope, and given the results Scott gets, I don't see how you can beat the deal Meade is offering. Scott's work is nice by any measure, and if I can get similar results, I will be happier than a pig in s**t.

I was going to get a 60mm double stacked lunt with tuner.....just $2700 seems like a whack of money for one object. The solar max 60s that I checked got really poor reviews. Seems a shame to pay $1200 for .75A without it being double stacked...not even an external etalon. I'll keep looking but I'll be saving forever for the lunt 60 ds.

I would get the .7 solarmax II 60 or, even better, a lunt. PST is great for visual but for photography, it's ok but doesn't compare to one of those.

Very nifty.....I've sold my pst, but looking at getting the .5pst next spring. I'll see what parts I have. Thanks for getting back so quickly. Nothing is easy, but great solution. Dave

There's the image posted there. I took the cell of a barlow, mated it with a 1.25" barrel, then placed that into the sawed off focus tube adapter to my original C10 focuser (I now have a crayford). The focus tube adapter has threads that screw into the focuser, which also has t-threads. The inside of the t-threads are the focus tube threads. the t-threads go to the t-ring. It's very difficult, because like you said the PST has very little backfocus. The only part sticking out of the pst focuser is the t-ring

Nice shot Scott....how did you get to focus with the DSLR. I've tried with my PST and DSLR and always have to go back to my webcam or dbk camera with the short backfocus. I noticed on the other website you mentioned a custom made DSLR/PST adapter. Can you explain or do you have an image you can post.

Thanks, Dave

Scott, well done (especially for 1st run). Like the detail you pulled out. Marc

There is nothing about that image that I wouldn't be happy with. Looking forward to taking delivery of my Lunt solar scope and will be thrilled if I can get anything looking near as nice as this image. You should be proud.

The Coronado PST is 40mm f'/10 <1.0 Angstrom. 60 exposures for surface detail, and 30 for the proms (all monochrome). Yeah I didn't think I could get the detail I did out of it but when I adjusted the gamma, it seemed to have a huge effect on the supergranules/ filaments. Only thing I'm not as happy with is the small sweet spot which sticks out like a sore thumb here...

That's pretty good Scott. Good sharp focus with lots of surface detail. The flares look a little odd but that could just be the scope. A PST - what the mm of the objective? I curious because I shot through a 50mm Solar Scope and didn't get near the detail.
