Not going to be tonight...supposed to clear at 5am. That doesn't help much so maybe tomorrow. Guess I'll try two things. First the UHC with the 70mm - won't have any chance if you couldn't do it with your 66. If not, I'll try my telephoto alone and go at about 75-80mm....too bad I don't have a UHC clip on - and it's 2" so screwed on using it with just piggybacking. I guess see what goes on the UHC. Had the same problem with M78. Couldn't see much at all but I'll go back and try the UHC on that one as well. Too many porch and street lights.

Just found a 2" UHC Lumicon filter. Have to see if it fits.

With trees and house, I can get about 3hours. Think we have haze and cloud tonight, but tomorrow is clear. Did you get one (even without the hat)? I have to check to see if I have any filters, but think I sold them all except for the clip on Ha filter that I bought this spring.

Thanks Hop....I think just a bit more blue added and also the night was a bit clearer than the last. Still limited to 50 minutes or so between two trees to the east. Tried the witches head the same night and didn't get much of anything. Still have trouble getting any brightness or detail on reflection nebula....trying again tonight and/or tomorrow when it clears a bit. Dave
