Hey Marc, I meant to mention to you, I live in the suburbs of Phoenix in Glendale, my backyard is pretty dark and I am privileged to have 300 nights of clear skies. The best moon shots are from the cooler weather because the summer heat can be an issue with haze and just downright hot.

Thanks Marc, This is a single shot taken with my Sony F-828 @ ISO64 around .25sec using a 30mm Plossl. One of the things my old Sony does really well other than taking great regular shots is images of the Moon. I think that is because it works really well at low ISO, almost everything I have posted on this site has been taken either at ISO 64 or ISO 100, if I go above that with exposures over 10 sec the noise is crazy. I guess because the moon is a big light bulb in the sky and I can turn the ISO down the camera just takes a nice shot. Day landscape shots are fabulous and as an armature Photographer I will use it until it dies. The camera was designed in 2000 and in Tech terms it is a million years out of date.

Is this a single shot or are you using a video setup? Really clear and sharp must have been a mint night. Marc
