Thanks, the folks at CN helped quite a bit. That is the thing with this hobby, an issue could be any number of things!!
Trevor, I plan to post the larger HQ images in the future.
Marc, Jay is most known for the paper industry. It is about 60 mi north of Portland on Rt 4. Just 10 mi south of Farmington, the birthplace of....earmuffs (in homage to the NPR girls on Saturday Night Live). Enjoy!

That's funny, I remember that thread on CN (read always ,wealth of info). At first Tonk had right idea but after about post 2 or 3 it was time to say "crap camera". Jay ME isn't that the old match capital (Bean)? Bro inlaw owns a vacay place over in New Portland. Despite the cam issues, pic came out good. Marc

It's only 60 kb because I posted it on another site. I had it saved on my hard drive. I forgot that we are not limited to small files on this site. By the way, nice job with this site!!

Wow Steve...that is very nice. Great detail, very natural looking. Hey, why is the pic so small? Tried to view full size and....this is it. The Canon should have given you a huge pic, right?

This was my first "real" image using Photoshop CS5. This is where I learned how to set the white and black points and was getting the hang of processing. There is still way much more to learn. I took this using a Canon XSi which I traded in for the T1i. I was having a BAD problem in my red channel using the XSi that only affected nighttime images. I think that is why this image looks a little off in the color. For more info on the banding problem I had with the XSi see http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=... . The general consensus was that it was just a faulty camera and not a faulty model. Many people have had excellent results with the XSi.
