Couldn't get my PHD guiding to work, so had to resort to the tried and true short subs.

The problem was in the calibration stage - I kept getting the message, "RA Calibration Error, the Star Did Not Move Enough." This would occur after the first calibration sequence on the W side of the RA axis. It never progressed beyond that, as the program would abort. It might have been a wiring issue. Balance was good.

Not really sure about your setup as a whole however when this exact situation happened to me it usually related to the scope being slightly out of balance. You'd be surprised at how little it takes to make good guiding almost impossible.

The Orion Mini Auto-guider. It was my second attempt with it. The first attempt went flawlessly. I don't know what happened this time.
