Thanks Marc. The filter is Baader film sandwiched between the end of the lens and the clear lens protection glass. If you are looking for a screw on one Thousand Oaks sells them ranging in sizes from 37mm-86mm and range in price from $49 to $65. I am going to get one but not until I have made my final choice on the next lens I am getting. The lens I used for these captures is the bottom of the line Canon 250mm. It was also a loaner from my neighbor.

Good man, was hoping somebody here recorded this event (I was in a 4 day rain). Philip, is the filter a homemade setup (w/Baad. film?) or do they sell premade screw in cells. Nice job, Marc

Sounds good Phil.

Thanks Russ, It has cooled down here in the valley so I am setting up my scope today for the first time since last May. Clear skies here other than the crazy vapor trails. Our latitude is the same as LAX. Sorry you did not get a good view of the Eclipse. I am going to try and get my guiding going again. If I cant get it going I will take you up on your offer from last April to have a look at my set up. Cheers man, Phil

Well done Phil - this was mostly obscure because of clouds and smoke from the prescribed burns. Got a few glimpse of it but no pics.
