Kepler Planet System
The summer heat is still here in AZ so the next best thing to imaging for me is painting. I painted this piece in PS CS6.
This painting depicts a mini solar system. The system that Kepler found is so small it is more like Jupiter and its Moons. The star, known as a red dwarf is about one-sixth the size of our sun. The star is cooler than our own and gives off more red light than yellow. The planets are small and whip around its host star every 2 days with the closest planet orbiting the star in less than half a day. The planets range in size from the size of Mars to 0.78 the size of earth. The system is about 130 light years away located in the constellation Cygnus.
