I tooled around with the Starizona method of combining Ha and RGB data. My hang up is aligning all of the stars. I still get some blooming in the stars that is noticeable when you close up on them. Anyway this is a start.

RGB data captured on October 29 and 31, 2011
H-Alpha data captured on November 1 and November 2, 2011

RGB data: Combination of 60 sec, 120 sec and 180 sec. exposure stacked in DSS for a total of 4 hour 7 min
H-Alpha data: 10 minute exposures stacked in DSS for a total of 2 hours and 10 min.

Canon T1i (modified)
Losmandy G11 with Gemini II
IDAS LP filter
Astronomic 6nm H-Alpha clip filter for Canon EOS

It is so funny how a day of processing progresses. The first image you cannot wait to post. Then you tweak things and wonder "why did I post that??" and you post the "new" image. Then start looking online as to how others have done it. My goal was to see what I could pull out of the "jaw" region, there is a bunch of cool little regions in there. I would like to know if it is possible to remove an old image with a new one while still keeping the comments. Who is in charge of that...Byland?

Looks like you're hemming and hawing over color (don't we all, lol). There's a good article this month in Astronomy mag. on PS selective color tool by Tony Hallas, I never did know how to use that thing.-- They all got a cool look. I like what you did w/the background (compared to first postings), more focus on the neb. (nice). Good work, Marc
