With a 200$ deck box, a bunch of plywood and some ingenuity I've managed to build a discreet observatory on my deck at my apartment. I'm pretty sure its ok with the complex as i've seen tomato gardens on several decks and those are more of an eyesore than this should be...

Tonight is first light (its aimed at the moon right there), i'll do polar alignment and maybe some H alpha shots.

The miniguider is an awesome guider. I've used a homemade version of it for well over a year with excellent results. The one there in the photo is the orion version.

How do you like the Orion mini auto guider? I'm eyeing that as a possible upcoming purchase.
