After suffering over six months of crappy weather, finally got out last night. Managed to sneak in 30 minutes on this target (6 x 300 seconds 70mm Stellarvue ED, ST2000xcm). Can't wait to try and put more time in.
Anyone out there have the Astrotech 2" field flattener? I tried it out for the first time last night. Would not fit into my 2" focuser in my Stellarvue or my Explore Scientific scopes. It fits in the 2" diagonal that came with the Explore, but then I cannot reach focus with the Stellavue...hence the poor stars outside center....

Thanks Marc....it does help....maybe my tubes are tight. Hmmmm, maybe grease and a hammer are the way to go.
The focusers have compression rings.
Looking at the pic, it does appear to be at a slight angle, but this is after several tries....should it be this tight?
I think there is a noticable difference between the two.
I have an ATFF, fits any 2" focuser that I've ever tried. It's actually for sale as I switched to the Hotech SCA FF, but both are good.
Thanks for the comments gents! I was kind of surprised how much started to show with so little time myself. If I can get couple hours in it should really pop.
I'll post some pics of the ATFF. It fits snuggly into my diagonal, but not into the focuser. When I screw my 2" filter into the ATFF the ATFF is slightly wider than the filter. So weird right? I'll post and image later when I get home. Marc, I will try to mess with the compression ring, maybe it is a simple as that, hope so. I bought it with this scope in mind.
Nice image Trev. I'm not sure why the ATFF would not fit your scopes. It should fit any 2" focuser. Maybe post some pics...
