Trying to refurbish an old SVD 8" reflector. Put in a new focuser and bought a Baader Multipurpose Coma Corrector. Both images are 300 sec single frames through the SVD 8" F4 reflector with my ST2000xcm. Stars are a little better, but not perfect. My fault though. The MPCC requires 55mm of space between it and the sensor. The spacers that I have just got me to 51mm. So a little short (that's what she said!). Anyways, need to get a few more mm to make better, but definately an improvement.

Thanks guys! Yeah, had some effect, but those stars could be better. Some of it may have been tracking, and some due to the lack of spacing. Will have to test again once I have the chance to ensure both are optimal. Admittedly, I stretched the "after" a little better looking at them side by side, but the stars are the key factor. ON the left they go from round to elongated to arrowhead. On the left, more uniform, north south football.

Thanks Spike. Looking to fashion and couple of little itty bitty spacers to get me to the magic 55mm. Shouldn't be too hard right? (that's what she said)
