I had not planned to image this last night. I set out to image the Owl nebula and M108 and found it would not fit with the AT6RC as I thought it would. Out of desperation I went to M109 and after throwing out a handful of subs because of flexure this is what I got!
M109
Barred spiral galaxy in Ursa Major
~83 million light years distant
February 11, 2012
Ocala, FL
6 min exposures stacked in DSS for a total of 3 hours 49 min
PS CS5
AT6RC
Orion 50mm guidescope with SSAG
Canon T1i (Hap Griffin modified)
Losmandy G-11 with Gemini II
Hutech IDAS Light Pollution Suppression (LPS) Filter

Thanks Trevor, I was not expecting much from this image as I was shooting it...I'll add more subs soon and finish it.
