My previous image of Andromeda is decent, but I couldn't fit the whole thing in the frame. Even with this short (350mm) focal length the extended nebulosity fills the frame. The AVX mount gave me some trouble. I had to discard quite a few frames and spent a lot of time figuring out how to maximize both sharpness and visibility of the dimmer regions. I still plan to add some H-alpha data.

I am a big fan of color and I it is an individual call for appeal. For me it looks like you found that in this image which has a really nice balance with the color. I sometimes go a bit overboard with the colors which is mostly due to the work I do for a living in the animation film industry. Slowly I am learning to find that nice balance in the middle. The heat here in AZ is starting to drop so I am looking forward to getting my gear set up. Cheers, Phil

Thanks, Phillip. I'm never sure how much to push the color, but my rule of thumb is that saturation, like sharpening, should be pushed less than what looks good at the moment.
