thanks phillip hey there is no dout that ccd is a better deep space cam but the dslr does well to and u can get a refurbeshed by canon with warrenty for like 300 bucks cant beat it really i got my 1000d for 300 bucks has live view so it works with eosmovierecord for doing planets with but i guess if u can afford it ccd image is always gonna produce a better image if u no how to work it right
