Re shoot of M86 with the 102mm scope. I would have thought with this much time, more would have shown up. Don't know if the issue is my expectations being too high inlight of equipment and conditions, or just that my processing skills are lacking. Most likely a combo of the two. Here are the stats:

Thanks Louie! My skies are not bad. I live in the suburbs of Honolulu, so not exactly a "dark sky site". Sad thing is, if I was not so lazy...I could pack up my gear and drive like 20 minutes and get to some incredible sky. Did that a couple years back when Charlie was up here. Shot up on North Shore with some incredible skies.

"Reduction set"? Not sure what that is, please explain. I did "calibrate" the image using darks, flats and bais shots (20, 30, 30) in Maxim. Why do you ask? You see something that should have been corrected better?

Little extra detail and bit more pleasing to the eye.

The LPR does help a lot. Evens out my background a bit better...but the real test will be in the next few months as the nebulas come back!

Thanks guys!

Marc, does it matter that it is a Keck 102? lol!

It's a 102mm not a Keck. Look around, looks like you got about the going rate of detail. I think it looks good, Marc
