I dunno what happened to my post, but…
Thanks, Steve! And yes, that's the one Bob recommended, too.
Excellent work Eric. THIS IS A FAR CRY FROM 3 WEEKS AGO!! This is so much more than my first images. If you are shopping for a LP filter I highly recommend the IDAS Light Pollution filter . Keep up the good work.
Lookin' good Eric, nicely framed
Before you buy a filter you should consider one with Minus Voilet which would clean up your halos around the stars.
Hutech makes a good one and there are others as well. Depends on how much money you want to spend and what your long term plans are.
Thanks, Russ!
Yeah not auto guiding yet, just using the tracking from the goto. My camera (Canon T3, I'm still learning it too) has a bulb setting, and I gave it a go last night on a 1 min exposure, but started getting pretty streaky stars, so I just stayed at the 30 sec. Also, I'm sorta worried about the ambient light pollution with longer exposures as well. Bob W. told me about a light pollution filter, so I'll be looking into that soon. But other than that, I feel like I'm getting somewhere! A far cry from 3 weeks ago, when I couldn't even get my camera and the scope to communicate! :)
Not bad at all Eric. 10 and 30 second exposures get you quite a bit.
What's the longest exposure you can take with your setup? You're not autoguiding yet right.
