M8 & M20 Mosaic: Harder than it looks...
Project I have wanted to do since I start in astrophoto. This is a mosaic of five different frames for a total of 15 hours total exposure taken over five nights. I have been playing with it for over a week and need to get it off my HD before I went blind. So much more that can be done with it, still playing with it myself, but just had to share with you all where I am at. Open to tips and trick that you would like to offer as this is a work in progress.

Make me work at it, send them unstretched/ddp'd. Not sure I can open Maxim fits (signed?) how about tiffs. Will the file size go through? I guess just try one (fit and/or tiff) and see what happens. Marc

Trevor, that sounds cool. That Annie's A-Actions I mentioned has 2 mosaic actions which would be interesting to try out (never done a mosaic). I had thought about trying to shoot one, but I don't know time-wise w/lrgb filters if I could pull it off. So if you're offering I'd like to try the 5 frames (and see what kind of mess I can make ahhhh). Marc
PS as for me adding to it, all you would get are maple leafs.

Better yet...if you want/can shoot that left frame and add it to "our" mosaic, all the better. A Basti/Woodrow production!

Lol, Marc...I'm just gettin'started. You should see how many versions I have on my HD. The issue is the left most frame was either out of focus, ccd wasn't seated properly in the focuser, or both. Could crop most of it out, but don't wanna. If you like, I could send you the panels aligned, and stitched, but unprocessed if you would like to play.
