m7- sapphires in gold
Hi all.
The weather here has been quite poor in the last two weeks.
Have been waiting for an opportunity to get some data on this.
Not a huge open cluster fan but this one is a pretty special object nestled in the intense star cloud toward the centre of our galaxy.
Details:
10" F4 newtonian (working @ F4.6)
SXVR-H16 CCD
L: 25' R:10' G:10' B:10' - 50sec sub exp/ bias and flat reduction.

Yes, am loving the H16 with my fast system and what can be achieved. Was probably more surprised than anything with this image as it doesn't even reach the 1 hour mark data wise.
It didn't really warrant any more as it was virtually noise free in the short subs.. signal to noise I guess comes into play here.

Gorgeous Rich! I love the range of accurately rendered star colours! It looks like the H16 is doing great work for you. And yes indeed, M7 is nestled in an amazing area in the sky. FYI, the region around M6 also throws in some nice H-alpha nebulosity that can be picked up nicely with a ccd cam.
I will have to check out your website and other images you've posted. :-)
