Thanks William, the little set up you are putting together with your ST-80 sounds like it will be some good fun, I am looking forward to seeing what images you get. Like you I love taking star images, sadly my camera does not so much any more, the poor thing is on it's last legs I think. I have been so busy and the weather in the fall here in AZ was not the greatest, Work is easing up so I am hoping to get back out soon and do some imaging. I am looking into getting one of the mirrorless cameras, a friend is going to loan me one so we shall see what it can do with the ST-80. All the best man and Happy New Year.

I like images like this one you took with the short tube, sometimes in my own light poluted backyard I practice set-up and tracking skills using only a Canon 400D with 300mm zoom, and am amazed at just the stars I can't see just looking up! I have just completed a set-up using an old ST 80 with a combination of fittings to use the Canon 400D or the Orion StarShoot Pro, looking forward to see what comes out, I still like just star images...........
