Elephant's Trunk Nebula (IC1396)
This is about 9 hours of total exposure, 3 each for H-alpha, O-III, and S-II. The color assignment is a common one; using H-a as luminance over a color image made with S-II as red and O-III as green and blue. The hue is shifted a bit to enhance the visibility of details, especially in the dark nebulosity in the lower right corner.

Thanks, Carlos. SOO by itself is usually not very exciting, but with H-a as luminance (and usually a significant saturation boost), it can be quite good. In particular, it's a way of getting a sharp, colorful image from targets where the O-III and S-II are very weak.

Nice pleasing result. I've not used an SOO palette before. Going to give it a try.
