Dumping the SBS.
So, I decided to pick up a QSI 583ws and some 3nm filters. I thought I'd dump the extra weight of the SBS dovetail to make way for the camera. I know there are mixed feelings about SBS and piggy backing,but it's a CGEM; The less weight the better, right?

Well, we talked about my setup, and I have no DF during 10mins+ exposures, and sub 0.10RMS PhD guiding 100% of the time. (Lodestar+AT72ED) with a piggy-back setup almost exactly like yours. I'm using ADM rings tho, not sure what you have there. I wouldn't disagree that a dual clamshell setup piggybacked would be best, but I'm 100% satisfied with the clam+rings on top setup as is.

Connor all you need is a small top plate like your bottom rail and bolt it all together. Having refractors with out the long focal length should be a complete DF killer. Probably what you have is good. This might be a hair better. Great looking setup

Thanks guys, I love my WO scopes. I can't wait to get my new camera and get outside shooting
with it. (Narrowband! Hell yeah!)
A ring set will limit the versatility of the guidescope somewhat though, will it not Dave? You make
a good point about DF, but as seeing isn't so great anytime here at all really, finding stars of a
high enough magnitude to guide on can be a chore sometimes.
And no, that's just pale gravel outside. I am pretty sure they get better shooting at the North Pole
than we do here in Ireland though...

Good looking setup if you can do a ring set for your guide scope instead of the screws it will help with differential flexure. I've been fighting it big time and finally have a 3" hutech OAG and mated It to a clement focuser and as soon as it stops raining it's time to test it. I'm pretty excited to try it out.
And is that snow outside? In June? You live on the North Pole? :)
