SN 2011dh in The Whirlpool Galaxy, M51 taken June 4-5, 2011. Image info: 26x6 lights, 15 darks, 20 flats. Captured with a Canon XS1000 (Hap Griffin mod). ISO 800,C8 SCT w/ focal Reducer @ F/6.3. PHD guide with SSAG. GM8 mount, WO ZS66 SD guidescope. Total t ime 2 hrs 26 minutes. Processed in DSS and PS Elements8.

Nice capture of SN 2011dh. I was dying to get out and shoot it but we're clouded over completely here. NASA are looking for people to submit their shots so they can recreate the entire timeline. You should send your stuff on man!

I like the wispy look around the galaxy and the handful of hitch hikers. Nice grab.
