Being in an urban area stray light is a problem. My dome acts like a concave parabolic reflector and focuses light to the center of the POD where it does the most damage both for imaging and for taking pics.
So, I painted the inside dome only. This leaves the south (Outer) dome opaque to light and keeps the ambient temperature of my POD dry and hot. When open the black portion does not conduct stray light nearly as effectively as the light colored dome does.
