This shows the big cass in foreground on left (with shroud attached), the AP155EDF in the middle back and the camera lens system using the Pentax 6x7 type lenses on the right.

Running all three at the same time keeps me pretty busy in the early hours of an evening but once things all are running well I can go inside and sleep and let the software park when complete.

Don't be jealous: it has taken me 10 years to get all that gear....

I know when I first began how envious I was of folks that had AP mounts and Refractors and decent cameras. It takes time....

the big scope is the 18" f/12.6 classical cass. I have lots of photos of it under my page. Lots of closeups etc

I built it over my Christmas break in 2005. It took about 100 hours of my shop time

Yea, that is way cool. Love your location, too. I'm just under two years away from moving out of my townhouse here in super light-polluted northern VA and heading about an hour due west someplace darker. I'll be able to setup a dome, but I'll still have to haul my CGE-Pro/scopes/etc a fair bit to get to the last of the east coast dark skies in West Virginia. Love all the AP mounts. :-)

no dome... i have three mounts I use at the same time. a dome can accomodate one and it needs to be in the center....

it will be a roll off building.

i am between hornitos and mariposa, ca.

here's a spy's eye view. You can see the house, my white truck and two or three telescopes set up in the photo

What dome are you getting? Man a remote controlled deal would be amazing. Where is this located again?

yessir; about four or five trees need to go or be 'topped'

i am excited about getting the observatory built

I want to use the big cass more but i need wind protection

That's a nice view. Cut a few tree's down you're unobstructed. Amazing, you're a lucky man with that!
