The Flying Bat Nebula also contains the Squid Nebula, which was discovered just a few years ago. The final image contains a total of 20 hours of exposure (8 each for H-alpha and O-III, and 4 for S-II). The Squid Nebula is all oxygen and very weak. I think that even with the 3nm O-III filter the light pollution at my location is limiting the quality of the image. The Flying Bat is also a bit unusual in that the shapes are quite "soft" and lacking in texture.
