milky way above Johannesburg, August 2010
10 x 30 sec with standard 550D and 17-70 mm lens @ 17 mm; the milky way could be seen by the naked eye, but only just

a photo stand was not available, so i just laid my camera down on its back

just its fun and easy to do; i was for work in South Africa and did not have any astro equipment with me, knowing i would not go to dark areas .....
but seeing a clear sky EVERY night, made me do 'something', 'anything'
its so unfair! we seldom have clear skies in the Netherlands, where as they have lots and no one is looking up there! well, i would like to have a remote observatory on a dark place
