Robert I use Fmax, I found my focal point and narrowed the range of the Vcurve and am nailing it. Really like the new heavy duty focuser from moonlite, it's not advertised yet, but it just works great, so I'm happy, just hoping to FINALLY get to shoot because of all this fog.
I use the moonlite on my FLT 132 and have one for my C8, both with the hi-res steppers. I have yet to use the one on the C8. The biggest start up problems I had was with FMax. I had to join the FMax user group to get help. Once loaded and set up ( this is where most the problems were) and you generate a few V-curves it works beautifully. Moonlites tend to work better than a lot of other focusers when using FMax (at least from what I see on the FMax user group). I do not use Temp compensation, but also have that capability as well. Ron newman at Moonlite is a great guy to work with and has made special adapters for me. According to Larry Myers of Mountain Instruments, Ron is probably one of the world's best anodizers of aluminum. I visited Ron's shop and was very impressed.
Bob, that's a CGE pro mount, bought that thing new. an 11 inch SCT on the cGEM would be too much weight load I think.
Anxious to get out, been staring at my setup for a while and it's been nothing but clouds. Super bummed on it actually. Clear perfect skies most of the last two months, every evening right at dusk marine layer and fog, it's like clockwork... so I'm anxiously waiting to even focus this thing.
