Got the deck taken out, and my buddy and his small crew put in an 18 inch round pier with a T base 5 feet deep. The dirt in my hill is super strong and solid, and I'm guessing that pier base isn't moving at all if much at all. Just levelled the J bolts (except he used screws with flat square 3 inch plates on the end. It'll be solid. So, that part is done. Monday they install the actual deck, should be done my tuesday. Wed. my observatory shows up. Can't wait.

Looks pretty good to me Charles. The eggs are small.
Glad to see you're up and running again.
Halpha sub, 300 seconds of NGC6781
First light, actually second sub. Slight elongation, but I didn't have very hgh confidence on my tpoint model. Should have spent more time on it tonight but was anxious to get the kinks out of my automation etc. Tomorrow night I'll properly align it. STOKED everything is working nicely together, no software conflicts. Tomorrow night is ON.
the neighbors daughter.... lol nahhh,
Cloudy here, coastal clouds, but they've gone high and are thick. So I focused my new CCD on the neighbors house across the valley, pull the wires through the mount perfectly so there was enough slack to rotate, but all other cables are nice and neat without too much slack. Found arcturus and let is sit on it for a while, and low and behold I'm pretty well aligned (which isn't surprising actually). So, game on first time it's clear.
Felt good to be out there tinkering, especially not feeling rushed but just cruising to get the instrument dialed right, doing all the little things correctly. Stoked to be back in the game... let's go clear skies!!!!
On the upper left hand side you see a burnt circuit. I soldered it and now, the flipping observatory works. I just trained it, pretty sroked right now, maybe I'll take leddy for a good lunch to celebrate!!!!!
If the fog would lift I'd be ready to roll.
Last thing left, my IT guy is coming over to set up a home network where I control the telescope PC from inside the house so I rarely even need to go out there. Pretty stoked.
oh yeah and figuring out the entry key switch thing as well, need to figure that out.
STOKED.
lol classic.
lol, I thought you already were a communist...and the drink was for me!
No way trevor, I quit booze and coffee and cheese. Going communist on you.
Just missing a margarita...it would go to the right of the moniter!
Good luck Charlie, can't wait to see your first light!
