Oh, no, Mark. When I am using the camera I spin the tube so the weight of the camera is closest to the center of gravity, then I move the tube fprward and bsckward to get balance. It's kind of a pain but works very well.
Of course, I've been shooting with newts on gems for over 30 years so it' sorta 2nd nature to me, but w/a little bit of practice is easy to pick up .

Thanks, Mark. The scope on top is an old Meade 80mm achromat. I've since replaced it with an Orion EON ED80.
And yes, I still have the Meade 60mm f/12. What an awesome little scope it is...
