Celestial Fireworks erupt over Independence Pass, above independence Mountain, above the Ghost town of Independence, on Independence Day. Now that just has to be patriotic!

Independence Mountain appears to erupt the milky way across the summer sky with Vega, Altair and Deneb flying at their peak. The summer triangle celebrating the holiday with a fantastic view, directly overhead.

A very unusual view from a ghost town where Colorado miners once viewed the night's celestial fireworks in the late 1870's. Now nothing remains but a few cabins crumbling even as the never ending fireworks continue, 134 years to the day after the discovery of gold and silver in the town named after Independence Day.

Another very awesome capture. I am assuming you were using a electric tripod mount.

Fred it was 2 exposures, one 2 minute shot and a 2 minute shot of the mountain with the mount stopped so the foreground didn't blur. I also have a new version that cropped the top a bit ant cleaned up the stars a bunch at Russ's suggestion.

Impressive. Nice framing work. If you can get the stars to be nice round points it would make a cool poster.
