Man Alistair you really know how to get attention, truly amazing image. Have you sent this in to APOD. If you ever create a book, this would have to be the jacket wrap and of course open on the table with the pages down. Remarkable!
Amazing shot , all the time looks to have been well worth it.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Trevor, keep up the good work. It took me the last 7 years of patientce, learning and mistakes to produce these types of images. Ray, I use a Takahahsi 5 inch refractor for all my images. Its the best scope I ever owned. I live just North West of Tucson so I have reasonably dark skies (I can see the Milky Way) but there is still some light polution I get from the city.
Can I be as cool as your some day? Awesome is all I can say.
In-freakin'-credible! And is now my new desktop wallpaper. Fantastic work! If I shot this, I would just print it and stare at it for days. It is my hope to produce something 1/10th as good that keeps me trying to get better in this hobby. Thank you Mr. Symon for the inspiration!
Really incredible! What optics do you use and how dark is your sky to get all this?
This is absolutely incredible, Alistair. I'm speechless. You really ought to start selling these!
You just keep outdoing yourself Alistair! The bar is getting really high. Well done.
