I am liking narrow band imaging! As soon as the moon shrinks (and I learn how to combine Ha and RGB) I plan to add RGB to this.
NGC 1027 the Heart and Soul nebula
10 minute exposures stacked in DSS for total integration time of 3 hours 40 min
PS CS5
Nikon 180mm f/2.8 ED lens (stopped at f/4)
Orion 50mm guide scope with SSAG
Canon T1i (Hap Griffin modified)
6nm Astronomic Ha filter
Losmandy G-11 with Gemini II

No doubt that focusing is difficult but I'll take it to image during nights when the moon is bright. I use ADM rings to hold the lens, once focused I lock down the screws holding the focus in place.

Sounds like a lot of work, but really paid off for you.

Thanks Mark. I used a an adapter by Fotodiox to couple the lens to the Canon body. Focusing was tedious. I've been using Backyard EOS and had to take multiple 5 sec frames to get focus.
