Just happy to finally get out. Rainy season is almost over! Trying out a buch of new equipment and techniques for the first with this. Plus, never shot this before..inspired by Basti's shot of that...and happened to be in my window.

20 x 360 sec
Stellarvue 70mmED(imaging and guiding)
ST2000XCM
Sirius Goto Mount
Astronomick CCD LPR

First time I used Maxim for capture AND guiding without a seperate scope, and first time using the Flatman. I have to say, was a bitch finding a guide star here...stars in this area are dim and shooting through the filter did not help. Eventually had to 2x bin and do 10 sec exposures to find one...but I got one. Should have clear skies tonight as well, will rehit with the 102mm. Wish me luck!

Thanks Louie and Marc!

Marc, your fov was bigger...chip size and all, I know size isn't supposed to matter but, lol...the color you got was a bit more to the blue end too and you don't have the star elongation that I have around the edges either...but I am not bitter. I remember when I first saw yours..I think it was in CI, I was like "Whoa" total Keanu Reeves moment. So many galaxies in frame. Hurts the brain to ponder exactly what you are seeing! Honestly got lucky. Didn't realize this was your Makarian Chain. Was aiming for M86 and my tracking was off. First test sub came across and I was like...nice fov, lol.

As a follow up, I tried to reshoot with the 102mm, but the weather gods were not kind. Should have realized I would not get two good nights in a row. The 102 would give 1/4 the fov, but hopefully much more detail.

Thanks for taking a look!

I don't know T, they look pretty much the same to me. I remember framing this thing was a B considering you can't see most of it (wasn't that happy w/mine). The fact that you had a night of "shakedown cruises" looks like things pulled together really well, nice shot. Marc

Thanks brother! I think Basti's version is better, but I am kinda happy with it.
