Just a rudimentary process of an object I've wanted to revisit in NB for a long time, now. Only managed to get an hour of integration time ducking in and out of cloud banks, but I'll take what I can get! Obviously want to add so much more time to this one.

Sweet!

Emil - Thanks. I gave it another spin in PixInsight when I'd slept. It's an extremely powerful suite of tools and the mutliscale HDR transform worked wonders on the core. I think I recommended such to you for your M42 shot (which was most impressive, I might add)

Trevor - Ha! You've got no idea how hard it was getting an hour's worth on this one. The weather here has been utterly crap beyond communication with words. The lower end is pretty noisy when I clip it further, so I'm looking at easily adding another 3 hours at least for Ha. Again, this is another target I'd love to get some SII and OIII on as well. I know I say that about every object I shoot, but the problem is that by the time the weather clears again after I shoot the Ha component, the object is out of view! I really think I'll have to come and hang out in Hawaii. I'm getting the ball rolling with a visa at the moment, so hopefully I'll be able to visit all the American astrogab members this year!

Wait where is the gorilla? Just kidding...very smooth Conor, very low noise. How much time you planning to add?

Thank you for the comments Marc and Steve. I've been clouded in so long that with any sign of a clear sky, even with clouds on the horizon, I'm running out and getting set up. It doesn't pay off most of the time, but what's new. I really want to get more integration time on this one before it sets for the Summer.

In the meantime, I've had another shot at processing this one. I resolved the core a little better and clipped the lower frequency areas - There's quite a bit more data there. More than I thought!

Nice work Conor in taming the core in NB. I wish you had better skies because you do some nice work.

Conor, sweet job. You really make the most of your time. Hope the sky gives you more nb exposure. Marc

Thanks Dave. Just glad to get out at all. Nearly forgot how to use my gear! I should really process when I've slept though. Crap core resolution here and low frequency range could do with being clipped more. I'll reprocess this one tonight.
