M051 Taken on May 13/14th 2012
I wanted to compare this one with my other M051 I uploaded some time ago. This one was taken with the IDAS LP2 filter where the other one was taken with the Astronomik CLS.
This shot has considerably more color in it IMHO.

Thanks Steve. Yes I did. The color was easier to "find".
I forgot to mention that this was about a 40% crop. The FOV was much larger but little ol M51 got lost in all that sky.... :)

Nice image Russ, I like the FOV. Do you find the IDAS filter easier to process with?

Thanks Trevor. After I uploaded it I noticed it lost some detail and contrast. Tonight I'm going to go back and see what I did wrong when I sized it for upload and see if that makes any difference.
Trial and error and error and error LOL

Russ, hard to compare the two. The older version done at a much greater fl. Closer in,better detail....but this one is cleaner, like the perspective here and the extra dustiness around the smaller component. Nice image.

Hmm, looks a little washed out here. Oh well. That's why we reprocess. :)
