First clear night in six weeks also happened to host the most spectacular aurora I've ever seen - green curtains with red flames stretching from western to eastern horizon all the way to the zenith - had to trash many of my subs due to red overwhelming everything. Lasted maybe 10 minutes, but I'll never forget it. Even had the privilege of watching a magnitude 2 meteor streak through the aurora just to top it all off. Awesome. Who knows how long until the next clear night. . . .

Thanks man. The bluish-green tint was prominent in my subs and was resistant to processing unless I dropped the color out completely or totally skewed it to red. Don't know if the aurora had anything to do with that or not. There were two white bands low in the north just after sunset that I mistook for clouds until everything suddenly blew up about an hour later. Thinking maybe the aurora was influencing the skies even before it blossomed, dunno. I saw an article in yesterday's paper saying that the aurora was visible as far south as Arkansas. I wonder what the people up in Canada saw?
