I cheated of course, first took the background with SSDSI through 80 mm Refraktor then added the pre-recorded Planet taken with an SSPIAG through my 127 mm Xlore Scient Refractor. Looks nice though, don't you think?

Yes well the "many" forget we are but a bunch of amateurs and this really is an art form or sorts.

I'm a firm believer that if you're happy with your images then you've accomplished your goal. It was YOU after all that spent the money for the gear so YOU should get to do with it what you want. :)

Improvements are optional and at your own pace.

Thanks, that's nice of you to say, many astrophotographers usually do not appreciate creativity of this sort!
