I went with the Starlight Express filter wheel. It can take 1.25, 36mm and 2" depending on the wheel. I chose that because I can use it with almost any camera. It runs off usb and works great. I have dealt with SX for 10 years and have been really happy with Terry and his products.
Bob thanks. I noticed you had gotten a st-8300, I'm sure you'll kick A w/it. I like it, I'm not a real tech head, my pocketbook decided on this camera (1st ccd). Again due to the p-book I got the Orion lrgb filts and manual wheel. Not the greatest of setups, but it got me up and going. This win/spr I'll probably get the sbig wheel and baad filts. Thnxs, Marc
Hey Derek thanks. I'm still not quite where I want to be w/my processing. My pics tend towards being too rigid looking, not easy and flowing. I did another process of this pic (in my photos) which was a little better (I think) or at least closer (but not there) to what I'd like my photos to look like. Thnxs again, Marc
Nice image Marc. The dust lanes in the HII region are just right, and you captured the outer bluish nebulosity too! I really like the star colours too. :-)
Can't wait for the reprocess my friend...how many versions are you up too? BTW, you should blog about transition from DSLR to CCD...the good, the bad and the ugly. Would be interesting to get your take....just sayin'
Hey guys thanks. I think I went a bit too dark w/it, am going back to scratch w/it and see what comes up. T some experimenting w/the spikes also messed w/starglow on Starizona (like that one). Thanks, Marc
