a.k.a. "The Propeller Nebula" in Cygnus.
6x600s exposures through an H-alpha filter, using an STL-11000M and Takahashi TOA150 apo refractor. Aligned, stacked & sigma clip combined in MaximDL5Pro, processed in Photoshop CS3, gradient removal using Gradient Xterminator, and noise removal using Noel Carboni's Astronomy Tools. I was surpirsed by the brightness of the not only the Propeller, but also the extensive nebulosity surrounding the main subject!

Thanks Starhopper! I agree....it's a really fun field to look over...a ton of neat little details. I also think that it's rather artistic, with the symmetrical 'propeller' superimposed over all that chaotic nebulosity. :-)

Thanks Marc! No, I haven't shot RGB or any other narrow-band images....just the H-alpha so far....but I do want to add in RGB and/or OIII plus SII data at some point this fall or next year.
FYI, the TOA150 is not mine. I've been doing mainly remote imaging so far this year, concentrating on learning how to frame/plan everything, plus developing my processing skills. But I do agree - it certainly is an awesome scope! (with an even more awe-inspiring price! lol !)

Derek, nice pic, I got to put this on next years list. Did you shoot rgb/nb for it? Marc PS that TOA150 must be the flipp'n balls!
