Thank you for this information
I was wondering about that myself and I first thought it was a bit of blooming in the KAF 8300 chip. But at closer inspection of the subs I realized that the mechanical shutter of the Parsec Mono 8300 got stuck on three of the subs creating these streaks during read out. It doesn't happen often, but is a weakness of Orion's Parsec line of cameras. Fortunately, in most cases you can quite efficiently correct these flaws cosmetically with a healing brush tool without falsifying too much info. You would not see these streeks on Tiff and Fits versions of the same image
Amazing! Technical curiosity....From where come these lines on the left? (From the stars)
Thanks Greg, I was really just experimenting and wondering what to do with an O3 image to which I wanted to add 2 more Narrow band filtered images when I was stopped by fog. So I decided to try to splash it an older RGB image with Regi Star (great program worth every penny) and voila!
Very nice Hans
