plate solving is an advanced technique where the telescope will slew to exactly where it previously was to line up with the stars in a shot perfectly, so as to continue a shot or start again a new night, etc.
Just starting with this seems very complicated to me, I have Maxim 5.12 and Ascom bits will I be able to control my RCX400 10", TO GUIDE, FOCUS, and IMAGE, and still do GOTO with Meade Autostar as I have got it to GOTO very good it always puts what I wont on my SX H9C chip.
for me I never needed to fiddle with it, CCDautopilot and SkyX handled it without me thinking, so even though it's working great I know nothing about it. lol
